Established in 2001 by a team of experienced professionals to provide video master tapes of material in the Public Domain. Our aim is to help producers not have to struggle with high licence fees and to enable them to access and afford archival material of high quality. our Collection spans 100 years from late 19th century to early 1990s. It includes documentaries, newsreels,outtakes, and early fiction films. It covers major international events, daily life around the world, arts and industries, educational and mental hygiene films, travelogues, fashion, sports, gags, and other oddities. The bulk of the collection is in the Public Domain.

Our content is eclectic. We specialise in footage that is in the Public Domain. PD film is footage which has never been, or is no longer, in copyright and is not subject to the usual licensing constrictions and prices. We provide research into our collection free of charge. In addition to what we hold on master tape we also have extensive information about the holdings in Washington and in other collections containing public domain material.

We have 20,000 entries in our database. Our Masters are held on both DigiBeta PAL and NTSC. We are gradually digitizing our screeners and are able to send them electronically. |
